Breast Lift

Dr. Alfonso Oliva performs mastopexy surgery (commonly known as a breast lift) to raise and firm the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support a more shapely breast contour. A breast lift can give you a breast profile that is both youthful and uplifted.

Enhancing your appearance with a breast lift
A woman’s breasts can often change with time, sometimes losing their youthful shape and firmness. These changes can result from:

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Weight weight gain and loss
  • Aging
  • Heredity

Sometimes the breast’s areola can become enlarged over time. A breast lift can reduce this as well.

What breast lifts cannot do
Breast lift surgery will not significantly change the size of your breasts or round out the upper part of your breast. If you want your breasts to look fuller, you may consider breast augmentation and lift surgery. If you’d like smaller breasts, consider combining a breast lift and reduction surgery.

Is a Breast Lift Right for You?

A breast lift may be a good option for you if:

  • You are physically healthy and maintain a stable weight
  • You are a non-smoker
  • You are feel that your breasts sag, have lost shape and volume
  • Your breasts have a flatter, elongated shape or are pendulous
  • When unsupported, your nipples fall below the breast crease
  • Your nipples and areolas are pointed downward
  • You have stretched skin and enlarged areolas
  • One breast appears lower than the other

What to Expect After Your Procedure

The final results of your breast lift will appear after approximately three months as the breast shape and position continue to settle. The surgical incision lines are permanent, but will continue to fade over time. Over time, your breasts may continue to change due to the inevitability of aging and gravity. But, you’ll can keep your new look for longer if you:

  • Maintain your weight
  • Keep a healthy lifestyle
